SPENCERPORT VOLUNTEER FIREMEN’S ASSOCIATION MARKS THE RETURN

OF THE ANNUAL CARNIVAL

SPENCERPORT, N.Y. – The Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association is excited to
announce that after a two-year hiatus, the annual carnival will return, and the organization is
looking forward once again to having the community come out and support their volunteer
firefighters! Since 1937, the annual Spencerport Firemen’s Carnival has been entertaining the
residents of Spencerport, Ogden, and surrounding communities with an array of rides, games,
food, and family fun. This year, the Spencerport Volunteer Firemen’s Association welcomes
back Hammerl Amusements as the carnival’s ride operator! Hammerl Amusements, based in
Williamsville, NY, is a Western New York company that has been family owned and operated
for over 50 years. Hammerl Amusements offers families an enjoyable experience with many
rides, games, and food items.

This year’s carnival will be held from June 8-11, 2022, with activities being held each
night. On Wednesday, June 8th, the annual Youth Parade will be held. Youth groups from
across the community will march from the Village of Spencerport to the Carnival Grounds.
Young children will also march and be dressed up in costumes. The Youth Parade starts at 7pm.
Live music will be provided by “No Big Deal”, beginning at 6pm!

On Thursday, June 9th, the annual Grand Firemen’s Parade kicks off at 7pm. This
year’s parade hosts organizations and fire departments from the community and surrounding
towns and villages. Live music will be performed by “BB Dang”, beginning at 8:30pm.

On Friday, June 10th, there will be live music featuring “7th Heaven”. The performance
starts at 9pm. Saturday, June 11th, proves to be a busy one with live entertainment by “Begging
Angels” from 5pm-8pm.

The evening wraps up with live entertainment from Rochester favorite, Tryst.
Performance is at 9pm.

It is with great sadness SFD announces the passing of one of our own. FF Dick Ziegler passed yesterday morning surrounded by his wife and children. At the age of 83, Dick was the oldest active member at SFD most recently serving on the Fire Police Squad.

Spencerport Fire District is currently on the scene of a motor vehicle accident involving a dump truck. No injuries are reported. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
