Spencerport volunteer firefighters responded to a motorcycle vs. pick-up truck crash on West Ridge Rd.  One person sustained serious injuries.  The  fire department remained on scene for several hours utilizing scene lights from the rescue truck to assist the Monroe County Sheriff's Dept with the investigation.

One of Spencerport Fire Districts own members receives a state award.  Fire Police member Bill Jones received the OFFICER OF THE YEAR AWARD at the annual Fire Police convention down in Mayville New York on the 23rd of May.  Bill is the treasurer for the Volunteer Fire Police Association of the State of New York.  This award was for his dedicated and excellent service to the organization.  Congratulations Bill.

Spencerport volunteer firefighters responded to Route 531 for a 2 vehicle crash with injuries.

The Spencerport Fire District has donated used 4 inch supply hose  to 2 small town  New York fire departments. Spencerport recently upgraded to 5 inch supply hose and thought it would be a goodwill gesture to give the old hose to a department that otherwise can't afford it themselves.  The 2 departments that received the hose were Bridgewater and Morris fire departments in Central New York.  Making the trip to deliver the hose were Spencerport volunteers Dave Spencer, Brian Krywy, Tim Stevely and Matt Lewandowski.

Spencerport volunteer firefighters responded to a Sias Lane residence for a reported bedroom fire.  Firefighters quickly responded and found a small fire in a bedroom which was brought under control in a matter of a few minutes minimizing damage to the house.  Photos by Tim Ekstrom.

Spencerport volunteer firefighters got together with firefighters from Brockport, Walker, Hilton, Albion, Rush, Scottsville, Clifton and Clarendon to practice off road manuevers with their all terrain vehicles.  Spencerport does not have an ATV vehicle but can call on our neighbors if the need arises.  These vehicles are used to search for lost people, remove injured people from fields or woods areas and can also assist fighting wildland fires.  Photos by Dave Spencer.
